In the upcoming closed alpha, interested players will have the opportunity to try out Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders for the first time. This alpha testing phase will take place later in the month.
On June 29, the extraction shooter, which features both PvP and PvE elements, will undergo its initial trial. To participate in the alpha, you must register on Steam. Additionally, a new trailer showcasing pre-alpha gameplay clips has been released.
Originally introduced at The Game Awards in 2021, ARC Raiders was initially presented as a cooperative PvE adventure where players join forces to combat invading extraterrestrial machinery. The game was originally scheduled for release last year, but Embark Studios postponed it in order to focus on completing their other upcoming free-to-play team shooter, The Finals (which currently has a second playable beta running until June 21). Last month, Embark Studios announced a significant change to ARC Raiders, shifting its focus towards PvP-oriented extraction gameplay. In this updated version, teams of players will not only battle against the enemy machines but also compete with each other to obtain valuable resources.
Although Embark Studios has not provided a specific release date for ARC Raiders, the game is planned to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
