On occasion, individuals exhibit emotional unavailability towards those in their vicinity. This can originate from numerous encounters – from a previous trauma to harboring a fear of attachment. “This can be a result of a distressing incident, an unhealed attachment injury, apprehension of vulnerability, sentiments of disgrace, and so much more. It can manifest in actions like absence of compassion, frequently becoming defensive, attributing blame to others, lack of trust, and so forth. Engaging in dismissive remarks: Frequently, when someone confides something significant in us, we tend to respond with dismissive comments or opt to disregard their emotions. This is a quintessential indication of being emotionally unavailable.
Vanishing unexpectedly: When we abruptly sever ties with individuals in our lives without justification or informing them, we are endeavoring to evade situations that involve emotional vulnerability.
Avoidance of particular topics: We meticulously evade subjects that necessitate vulnerability and emotional expressions because we are unaware of how to exhibit our emotions.
Discomfort: When we attempt to address our own emotions, we experience intense discomfort regarding the matter.
