ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reassured Sri Lanka of further assistance in the realm of sports, following a recent donation of Rs52 million to promote various games.
Ehsan ur Rahman Mazari, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, held a meeting with Roshan Ranasinghe, the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, in Colombo on Thursday (15), engaging in discussions on mutual collaboration in sports.
Arjuna Ranatunga, the Sri Lankan World Cup-winning captain, and the Secretary of the Sports Ministry of Sri Lanka were also in attendance on this occasion.
The Minister for IPC offered support to the Sri Lankan minister by providing coaches for hockey, squash, and kabaddi.
The minister added that through sports, the two nations can strengthen their existing relations among the people.
The Sri Lankan minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s cooperation in the sports sector, particularly for granting Rs52 million for sports development in Sri Lanka.
